The Specification

The quality of our weekly patent watch is strongly related to the quality of the client specification.  Our job is to filter through the thousands of patent documents published each week to uncover those of interest to our clients.  We make these selections based on our understanding of your interests as expressed in the specification.  When we find a new client that is interested in keeping up with patents in their industry we assist in developing a specification.

The specification may include general statements describing interests such as , "Monitor all activity relating to electric cars".  It may also include requests for specific companies such as, "Monitor all patents issued to Ford Motor Company so long as the patents relate to electric cars, battery technology, electric accessories, etc."

Once we know what your interests are reports will start arriving each week with the information you need to keep up with innovations in your industry.

Items of interest to a specification:

We can watch for specific inventors, i.e. all new Patents issued to Steve Wozniak

We can watch for specific companies, i.e. all patents issued to Google, Facebook, Apple, Microsoft, Dell, etc.

We can monitor specific classes and subclasses, i.e. watch for all new patent issued in Class 705 subclasses 7.11-7.24

We can watch for areas of interest, i.e. monitor all activity related to means of securing electronic mail distribution.

Generally we just want to find what you are interested in.  The specification tells us what you are interested in so that we will recognize it when we see it. Feel free to ask for assistance, we are happy to propose a specification based on our knowledge of your company.  You may then modify your specification to more accurately represent you real interests.
