Literature searching is often overlooked in the patent process. This may be observed simply by looking at issued patents and examining the references cited. Large numbers of patents make no reference to foreign art or literature and in many cases such art exists. It is advisable to conduct literature searches and there are many resources available to do so. Here are some resources that are available on the web. Often it is a good idea to visit a local university and to search on there databases.
